16 May, Congratulations to Cameron Dozier on receiving a scholarship to play college basketball at Palm Beach State College!! We are very excited to announce that Cam will become a Palm Beach State Panther next year as he has successfully fulfilled his dream of continuing his basketball career! Cam was a major part of the success of the Tiger's over the last two years, and while we hate to lose him we couldn't be happier that he will get to play ball at the next level. Cam was named to the FHSAA State Championship All Tournament team after leading the Tigers with 23 points in the Championship game, he was also named to the East All Star Squad, and recognized by the FABC on the Class 1A All State Team. Cam was also just recognized as a Co MVP of the Tigers for this season and as an Academic award winner on the squad. He is an extremely talented and well rounded athlete and we expect nothing but the best for him. Congratulations Cam!!

The award was presented by FABC and sponsored by Leroy Selmon and confirms what the Florida Dairy Farmers recognized earlier. Click HERE for all of the FABC award winners.
While looking for this award on line, I also noticed that both Cameron Dozier and Alex were also named to the FABC Class 1A All State Team! Congratulations to both of these incredible young men on outstanding high school athletic careers and well deserved recognition.

21 Mar, CONGRATULATIONS to ALEX HAMILTON on being named FLORIDA 1A PLAYER OF THE YEAR and COACH ORLANDO on being named FLORIDA 1A COACH OF THE YEAR!! These awards are presented by the Florida Dairy Farmers in conjunction with the the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA).
These were two well deserved awards. What more can you say about Florida 1A Player of the Year Alex Hamilton? Since joining the Tigers, he has been an instrumental part of the success of the basketball program, leading the Tiger's to a 53-4 record in his 2 seasons (with many other wins in non record events). Alex has been an incredible leader on and off the floor. His quest to honor his father's memory has been inspirational to watch. I know Alex's family must be incredibly proud of him, and I'm sure his father would be also. Alex is truly an amazing young man with a very bright future. It has been a privilege to witness his basketball abilities and dedication. We are looking forward to seeing him excel at Louisiana Tech as he moves on in his basketball career. Congratulations Alex!!
Coach Orlando was also named Coach of the Year last year after the Tiger's 27-1 season (by the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches). Although this season's record was 26-3, the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP title at the end was much sweeter. Just for the record, all three losses this year came early in the season before the full team was available and while there were some key players injured. Since coming to Chipley in 2007, Coach Orlando has returned the Tigers to the top of the Florida basketball world by bringing the Tigers their first ever STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. I know the Coach would want me to mention that this award is a reflection on his entire Coaching staff, the Tiger players, and their families.

18 Mar, It should be no surprise that the Tiger's dynamic duo, Alex Hamilton and Cameron Dozier, were named to the Source Hoops Class 1A All Tournament Team, with Alex garnering the Class 1A MVP award as well. Congratulations to a couple of amazing basketball players. We are expecting there will be some additional recognition for Tiger players soon.

What an incredible state run by the Chipley Tigers. It lived up to all the hype. The City of Chipley drove all the way to support the Tigers. The players and coaches greatly appreciated the outstanding fan support all year long. In addition, the school, faculty, community, and business leaders support will never be forgotten. The coaches would also like to especially thank our wives and family members for their support and patience.
The seniors of every year for the last five years made this state championship happen. Thank you AJ, Rodney, Luke, and Ryan for laying the foundation for the success of Chipley basketball.
Alex, Cameron, Ryan Mac, Kobe, and Emanual applied the defensive pressure from the start of today's game and the entire year. Kobe was a beast all year long in the post. Alex and Cameron's leadership and play was sensational all season..
Thank you to the City of Chipley for helping to make this happen. Thank you Tiger Nation and fans....together as a team we made history that will be remembered for a lifetime.....GO TIGERS!! STATE CHAMPIONS 2011-2012.
